Two individuals allegedly forcibly disappeared in separate incidents, while another man has reportedly returned home after more than seven months in custody.

According to family members, 17-year-old student Riaz Baloch, son of Sattar Baloch and a resident of Mastung, was allegedly detained from his home at around 1 a.m. on 17 August 2026 by personnel identified by the family as members of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). His whereabouts remain unknown.

In a separate case, 20-year-old fisherman Zeeshan, son of Nizam and a resident of Bandar Jiwani in Gwadar district, was allegedly detained from his home at around midnight on 3 July 2026 by personnel identified by relatives as belonging to the ISI and Military Intelligence (MI). Family members said no information regarding his whereabouts has since been made available.

Meanwhile, Saeed Ahmed, son of Mohammad Gul and a resident of Qambarani Road in Quetta, has reportedly been recovered after more than seven months. According to his family, he was allegedly forcibly disappeared on 20 February 2026 and returned home on 21 September 2026.

Family members and rights groups have long maintained that many cases of enforced disappearance in Balochistan are reported only after significant delays, citing fear, pressure and security concerns as factors that often prevent families from publicising cases immediately.

Separately, a protest camp organised by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances continued for a 6,370th day outside the Quetta Press Club on Friday.

People from different walks of life visited the camp and expressed solidarity with the families of missing persons.

Speaking at the camp, VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch said that the case of Ghulam Haider Kurd, son of Jumma Khan, who was allegedly forcibly disappeared from Eastern Bypass in Quetta on 12 March 2026, had been submitted to the headquarters of the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances in Islamabad, the Balochistan Home Department and the deputy registrar of the commission’s Balochistan chapter.

He expressed hope that the relevant authorities would take effective steps to recover Ghulam Haider Kurd and other missing persons and provide justice to their families.

Enforced disappearances remain a longstanding issue in Balochistan. Families, human rights organisations and political groups have repeatedly alleged that individuals are detained by Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies and subsequently held incommunicado. Pakistani authorities have denied involvement in many such cases. Human rights organisations, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, have also documented reports of enforced disappearances in the region.
