A Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) officer, Murad Jamot, was killed in an IED attack in Khuzdar Balochistan. The CTD confirmed the incident in a statement released on social media platform X, previously known as Twitter.

The attack took place on Sunday morning at Sultan Ibrahim Chowk. In response, security forces cordoned off the area and initiated an investigation. The CTD’s statement expressed their determination to bring those responsible for the attack to justice.

The CTD officials have faced attacks from Baloch “pro-independence” armed groups. These groups have accused the CTD of human rights violations, including “enforced disappearances” and “extrajudicial killings”, and have declared that officials involved in such acts will be held accountable. As of this report, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack on Murad Jamot.
