Baloch Students Action Committee (BSAC), a prominent students organisation in Balochistan, on Thursday announced that it will hold its second council session in March, 2021.

Speaking to the journalists during a press conference here in Quetta, the leaders of BSAC said its new leadership will be elected during the council session in March. They said the council session will be dedicated to organisation’s former vice chairman Feroz Baloch and “martyred” professor Razaq Baloch.

Feroz Baloch was forcibly disappeared on 29 May 2019 and remains missing till date, whereas, Professor Razaq Baloch, a very popular teacher amongst his students, was gunned down in July 2013 in Khuzdar.

BSAC was formed by students of Balochistan University of Information and Engineering Technology in 2009 and has been campaigning for student rights ever since. It is currently considered one of the main student organisations of Balochistan. It also has units outside Balochistan.

The spokesperson of the organisation during the press conference said, “due to the earnest endeavours of BSAC’s members, the organisation is now active not only in Balochistan but other parts of the Pakistan. We believe the issues of students are not limited to Balochistan only but are prevalent in other parts of the country too. The organisation now has 13 zones and several units.”

He said that the organisation has a clear objective to campaign for the rights of students and guide them in the educational institutions.

BSAC said its council session in March 2021 will be held in Karachi.
