This year, the number of people so far killed in coal mines in Dukki district of Balochistan, is twelve. Forty workers were killed in coal mine accidents during the year 2019.

Most of the coal is extracted in Dukhi area but unfortunately the highest number of fatalities also are being reported there.

According to a report, from the year 2000 to 2019, more than 1300 miners were killed in Pakistan due to blasts, landslides and various accidents, where a large number of accidents is included from Balochistan.

Dangerous working conditions continue to kill miners in Balochistan

Coal mine workers also suffer from lung, kidney and other diseases.

On one hand, workers in the mines of Balochistan are not provided enough facilities and on other hand, they get minimum wages by which they barely can run their houses.
