His clarification came shortly after Prime Minister Imran Khan told a group of TV anchors that he had arranged a meeting of Mengal with the army chief.

According to the details, leader of his own faction of Balochistan National Party(BNP), Sardar Akhtar Mengal has said that he is ready to meet Prime Minister Imran Khan and army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa to solve the issue of missing persons.

His clarification came shortly after Prime Minister Imran Khan told a group of TV anchors that he had arranged a meeting of Mengal with the army chief.

“There was a meeting due between me, Gen Bajwa and Akhtar Mengal. Akhtar Mengal couldn’t make it to the meeting but for the record, Gen Bajwa has given me full assurance on resolving the missing persons’ issue,” PM said.

Responding to PM’s remarks, Mengal said that he could not attend the meeting as he was told about it on a very short notice.

“Firstly I was told about the Prime Minister’s meeting on a very short notice ( 1 day before). I was on my by-election campaign in Balochistan so couldn’t make it. I’m ready to meet General Bajwa & the Prime Minister on this issue and go on every platform possible to solve it,” Mengal tweeted.

In a second tweet, he said that another meeting could be arranged to discuss the issue.

“There is no need to blow this out of proportion- we all live in the same country I’m sure another meeting can be arranged. The missing persons issue is very important to me. My brother is missing from decades there is no political gain in this issue for me.”
