According to the details received by the Balochistan Post, BSO Azad, a student organization, in a press release on Monday criticized the on-going project of “Gwadar East-Bay-Expressway” and termed it as an Exploitation Project.

East-Bay-Expressway is a six-lane expressway which is supposed to connect Gwadar port with the coastal highway, but fisherman of the area are concerned as project includes cutting of ‘Demi Zar’, a mountain, which would affect the livelihood of fishermen.

A large number of fishermen, women activists, workers of different political parties and civil society members took part in a protest against the project in Gwadar on Saturday. The protest was organised by an alliance of fishing community.

BSO Azad lauded the work of Balochi academy in the field of promoting Balochi language and literature, but condemned the recent decrease in Academy’s annual grant and called it a continuity in government ’s policy to deprive Baloch of their language and literature.
