A protest camp organised by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances in Balochistan continued outside the Quetta Press Club for the 6,332nd day.
During the protest, family members of Ayub Kurd said that he was detained along with Naveed by personnel of state institutions from Bibi Ziarat Link Road, Quetta, on 10 January 2024 and taken to an undisclosed location. Naveed was later released, while Ayub Kurd remains missing.
Ayub Kurd’s family members appealed to the relevant authorities to ensure his recovery and end the prolonged distress and uncertainty they have been facing.
VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch called for the recovery of Ayub Kurd and all other missing persons. He said that if any missing person is accused of an offence, they should be brought before the public and presented in a court so they can legally defend themselves against the allegations.
Nasrullah Baloch further called for the issue of enforced disappearances to be addressed in accordance with Pakistani law and for the families of all missing persons to be provided with justice and legal protection.
