The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has demanded investigations into the killing of two young Baloch men in Panjgur and Washuk districts of Balochistan, including one whose body was recovered weeks after he was allegedly forcibly disappeared.
In a statement, the BYC said 28-year-old Noshad Ahmed, son of Jameel Ahmed and a resident of Tasp in Panjgur, was shot dead on June 1 on Chedagi Road in the Tasp area.
The group alleged that Noshad Ahmed was targeted by members of a “state-backed death squad” travelling in a white Axio car. It said the attack took place between Asr and Maghrib prayers and that he died on the spot after sustaining gunshot wounds.
According to the BYC, Noshad Ahmed lived with his family in Tasp. The organisation said his killing had left his family and loved ones devastated, while the attack, carried out openly on a public road, had increased fear among local residents.
The BYC said the killing reflected a wider pattern of violence and insecurity in Balochistan, where it said families affected by such incidents continue to seek justice and accountability.
In a separate statement, the BYC said 18-year-old Irshad Alam, son of Alam Khan, was found dead in the Basima area of Washuk on June 8 after being subjected to enforced disappearance.
Irshad Alam was a young businessman from Bidrang in Gresha Naal, the BYC said, adding that he was forcibly disappeared on April 30, after which his family spent weeks searching for him.
The organisation said the family’s “worst fears were realised” when his body was recovered in Basima, adding that “a young life filled with dreams, determination and promise” had been cut short.
The BYC said enforced disappearances and killings of Baloch youth had deepened grief and anger across Balochistan, while families of victims continued to demand truth, justice and accountability.
The organisation condemned the killing of Noshad Ahmed and the enforced disappearance and killing of Irshad Alam, calling them violations of fundamental human rights.
It demanded independent investigations into both cases, accountability for those responsible and justice for the affected families.
The BYC also called on the United Nations, international human rights organisations and the global community to take “immediate and meaningful action” over enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings and the broader human rights situation in Balochistan.
Pakistani authorities have not issued an immediate statement on the allegations made by the BYC regarding the two cases.
