Pakistani armed forces detained two students, including a female student, during raids in the Lyari area of Karachi and moved them to an undisclosed location, families and local sources said.
The raids were carried out in Ali Muhammad Mohalla in Lyari’s Kalri area, where security personnel entered several homes and took Ayesha, daughter of Lal Jan, and Dawood, son of Ibrahim, into custody, the sources said.
Both are students and are believed to be between 18 and 20 years old, according to their families.
Families said they have received no information about the whereabouts or legal status of the two students since the detentions and said neither has been produced before a court. They described the students as having been forcibly disappeared.
There was no immediate comment from Pakistani authorities.
