A local judge, Qazi Muhammad Jan Baloch, who was abducted two days ago by unidentified armed men in Balochistan’s Kharan district, has been safely recovered, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
According to the administration, Qazi Muhammad Jan returned to the District and Sessions Court in Kharan following his recovery, where he met with local authorities. However, details regarding the circumstances of his recovery and the location from where he was found remain unclear.
The judge had been abducted two days earlier from the premises of the court while performing his official duties. Eyewitnesses said a group of armed men stormed the court, set parts of the building on fire, and forcibly took Qazi Muhammad Jan with them.
The incident had sparked widespread concern across the province and strong condemnation from the legal community, which demanded immediate action for his safe return.
