Balochistan, a place plagued by the troubling issue of people going missing against their will, has continued to face this distressing problem for the past 20 years. Baloch nationalists, activists, and human rights supporters have consistently accused Pakistani intelligence agencies and security forces of being behind these abductions and unlawful killings. While the Pakistani government strongly denies any involvement, compelling evidence provided by these groups tells a different story.

In a recent investigation conducted by The Balochistan Post (TBP) during the 2nd half of September and the 1st half of October, the following was discovered:

Revealing the Facts

During this time, TBP carefully documented several cases of people forcibly disappearing from different parts of Balochistan. The collected accounts shed light on the seriousness of the situation, with 53 individuals mysteriously vanishing. In the midst of this troubling situation, there was some hope as 9 of the missing individuals surprisingly returned home safely, offering a bit of relief in an otherwise bleak scenario.

Heartbreaking Findings

Unfortunately, not all those searching for missing loved ones found them alive. In these difficult four weeks, five dead bodies were found, adding to the sadness and despair in Balochistan.

These findings shed light on the issue of forced disappearances in Balochistan. The persistence of these incidents and the government’s repeated denial of involvement calls for increased attention from the international community. The pressing need for a comprehensive solution to address this ongoing human rights crisis cannot be stressed enough.

Enforced disappearances were reported in the following areas:

Awaran 15
Dera bugti 12
Turbat 4
