Baloch Students Organisation (BSO), which recently had changed its name back to BSO from BSO Pajjar, had three of its senior cabinet members abducted ‘allegedly’ by Pakistani secret agencies last year in December.

According to the details received by The Balochistan Post, BSO Chairman, Zareef Rind, Secretary General Changez Baloch and Information secretary Aurangzaib Baloch have been released after a month of their abduction. They reached their homes today on Thursday in the capital city Quetta.

However, the senior joint secretary of BSO, Jiyand Baloch, remains missing along with his younger brother Hussnain Baloch, who were picked up during a raid at their house in Quetta on 30 November.

BSO has confirmed the release of their Chairman and senior office holders on the Official Facebook page, stating that their Chairman Zareef Baloch, Secretary general Changez Baloch and Information secretary Aurangzaib Baloch have reached at their homes safely.

“Release of our central leaders is a win for the democratic struggle,” further read the statement.
Enforced disappearances that started in the early 2000s have never slowed down in Balochistan, in fact, a dramatic surge has been observed in the number of people going missing with each coming year.

Amnesty international and campaign groups in Pakistan have criticized Pakistan’s secret agencies of abduction-styled-arrests and detaining of student activists extra-judicially.
