A man has reportedly been forcibly disappeared from Mastung, while the body of Sardil Sherkhan, who had allegedly been forcibly disappeared from Pasni in November 2025, was later recovered from a remote area, according to the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) and the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP).
According to the BYC, Sardil Sherkhan, a resident of Shadi Kaor, Pasni, was allegedly forcibly disappeared by personnel of Military Intelligence (MI) on 22 November 2025. The organisation said he remained missing for approximately six months, during which his family received no information about his whereabouts.
The BYC said that on 30 May 2026, Sardil Sherkhan’s family was informed that his body had been recovered from a remote area. According to the family, after months of waiting for his return, they instead received news of his death. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance and death remain unclear.
The BYC described Sardil Sherkhan’s death as an extrajudicial killing and said that enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, targeted killings and alleged staged encounters continue to occur across Balochistan.
The organisation called for an independent and transparent investigation into Sardil Sherkhan’s disappearance, detention and death, and urged that those responsible be identified and held accountable in accordance with the law. It also called on international human rights organisations and independent observers to take notice of alleged enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in Balochistan.
Meanwhile, a protest camp organised by the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances continued outside the Quetta Press Club.
During the protest, Khan Mohammad submitted the details of his son, Mohammad Riaz Satakzai, to the VBMP. He alleged that his son was detained by Pakistani state personnel at the Daghari FC checkpoint in Dasht, Mastung district, on 5 May 2026 while travelling by van from Quetta to Daghari, and was subsequently forcibly disappeared.
Khan Mohammad said he had also met senior FC officials in an effort to secure his son’s recovery, but Mohammad Riaz had not been recovered and the family had received no information regarding his whereabouts. He said the continued lack of information had caused the family severe distress and anxiety.
VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch assured Khan Mohammad that Mohammad Riaz Satakzai’s case would be submitted to the relevant commission and government authorities on behalf of the organisation, and that the VBMP would raise the matter at every available forum in an effort to secure his safe recovery.
Nasrullah Baloch called on the government to ensure the recovery of Mohammad Riaz Satakzai and all other forcibly disappeared persons, and to immediately provide their families with information regarding their whereabouts.
