The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) said on Thursday that more than 12 Pakistani military personnel and one police officer were killed in 11 attacks across Balochistan between Aug. 15 and Sept. 9, while a police station and communications infrastructure were also targeted.

BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said in a statement that the attacks were carried out in Chagai, Surab, Awaran, Khuzdar, Rakhshan, Kech, Quetta and Barkhan.

The BLF said its fighters attacked Talaran police station in the Baramcha area of Chagai on Sept. 9, taking control of the premises, detaining personnel and seizing weapons, equipment and a vehicle.

The detained police personnel were later released unharmed after being warned, the statement said.

On the same day, the BLF said it ambushed a Pakistani military convoy near a grid station in Gidar, Surab, causing casualties and material losses.

The group said six Pakistani military personnel were killed on Sept. 4 when its fighters ambushed a convoy at Mughali Cross on the Quetta-Karachi highway in Khuzdar. It said one vehicle was hit directly while others were targeted with rockets and automatic weapons, causing further casualties.

Two Pakistani military personnel were killed and two wounded in an improvised explosive device attack in Awaran on Sept. 7, the BLF said. It also claimed responsibility for setting fire to a fibre-optic facility in Chagai and a Ufone communications tower in Rakhshan.

In another attack, the group said two Pakistani military personnel were killed and two wounded when fighters targeted a foot patrol in Kolwah, Awaran, on Sept. 1. It also claimed one police officer was killed and several others wounded in Quetta on Aug. 28 after police attempted to stop its fighters.

The BLF said it had also killed three men it accused of working with Pakistani forces.

Rahmatullah, who the group said had been detained during an Aug. 28 attack on a camp linked to Shafiq Mengal in Khuzdar, was executed on Sept. 4 after being sentenced to death by a body the BLF described as its court.

Another man, Zulfiqar Ameer Buzdar, was executed on Aug. 29 after what the group described as a 14-day investigation into allegations that he had provided information to Pakistani forces and delivered a motorcycle fitted with a tracking device.

A third man, identified as Sajjad alias Taj, was shot dead in Tump on Aug. 30 after allegedly attempting to escape detention, the BLF said.

Pakistani authorities had not issued a response at the time of publication.
