Reports of military operations have emerged from several areas of Balochistan, including Mastung, Khuzdar and Kech, involving aerial and ground activity.
According to local sources, missiles were reportedly fired from drones in the Zehri Gat area of Mastung. In Khuzdar, residents reported that gunship helicopters carried out shelling near the area of Goru, while drones were also seen operating in the vicinity.
Residents in both areas reported hearing repeated explosions as the operations continued. No official statement regarding the reported incidents or any casualties has been issued by Pakistani military authorities.
Meanwhile, in Kech district, local sources said a military operation has been underway since the early hours of Monday in the mountainous outskirts of Mand. The reported operation is taking place in and around the areas of Nahang, Granaz Shep, Kargit, Sori, Lohi Kahen, Dambani, Bardast Talar and Taradan Den.
According to the reports, armoured vehicles and quadcopters are being used as part of the operation. Residents also reported intermittent mortar fire in the surrounding mountainous areas. Details regarding any casualties, arrests or damage have not been independently verified.
The reported operations come amid accounts of increased military activity in several parts of Balochistan, including Mastung and Kharan, over recent days. Civilian casualties linked to drone strikes in different areas have also reported.
The developments follow reports of an aerial strike in Surab last week, in which local sources said civilians were killed and injured.
