A non-local farmer was reportedly killed in a military drone strike in Balochistan’s Mastung district on Sunday.

According to local reports, the victim, identified as Habibullah, a resident of Larkana in Sindh, was killed in a drone strike allegedly carried out by Pakistani military forces in the Sharifabad area of Khadkucha.

Sources said Habibullah had been working as a farmer in Khadkucha and was engaged in agricultural work when the strike occurred.

The incident comes amid reports of an increase in military bombardments and drone strikes across several districts of Balochistan. According to local sources, more than 30 civilians have reportedly been killed in recent days, with many of the victims said to be women and children.

On Saturday, another farmer, identified as Sultan Mohammad, son of Haji Malik Usman Sasoli, was reportedly killed in a drone strike during an ongoing military operation in the Lijje area of Kharan.

Last week, local reports indicated that around 27 civilians, including women and children, were killed or injured in Pakistani air strikes in Surab. Similar allegations have also emerged from Khuzdar, Zehri, Moola and Kharan, where several families were reportedly among those affected by drone strikes.

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has condemned the reported drone strikes in Balochistan and called on the federal government and security forces to provide a transparent account of the incidents. Pakistani forces, however, maintain that the operations targeted members and hideouts of Baloch armed groups.
