A pickup vehicle carrying eight people, including three women and two children, has gone missing between Pasni and Shadi Kaur in Balochistan’s coastal district of Gwadar, where local sources said a military operation is ongoing and more than 50 people have been detained.

Local sources said the vehicle was travelling from Pasni to Shadi Kaur when it disappeared along with all its passengers, adding that the passengers included three women, two children, one of them an infant, and three men.

According to the sources, the passengers were returning to their village after receiving treatment at Pak Oman Hospital in Pasni when they went missing. They added that two days had passed since the incident, but neither the passengers nor the vehicle had been traced.

The affected families on Wednesday appealed to the local administration and law enforcement agencies to take immediate action.

The incident comes as Pakistani forces continue an operation in the Shadi Kaur area of Pasni tehsil, where sources said more than 50 people have been detained, adding that their whereabouts remain unknown.

The sources said the operation was carried out in several areas, including Zareen Kaur, Tarati, Goristani and Kabadi, adding that Pakistani forces had blocked routes in the area, restricting movement. However, authorities had not issued any details in this regard.

Meanwhile, in Balochistan’s Kech district, sources from the Tump area said the Pakistani military launched an operation in Koshkalat on Wednesday morning and detained several people, adding that one person was killed during the operation and gunfire was heard in the area.

The identity of the deceased could not be immediately confirmed, and there was no official confirmation of any casualty.

Separately, two men identified as Maulana Abdul Hameed and Nasir Haibatan went missing in the Parom area of Panjgur district after being summoned to a Frontier Corps camp at around 12 noon on May 5, family members said.

Family members said both men appeared at the camp at the appointed time but did not return. They said no official information was issued about their detention or release, adding that the families feared they had been forcibly disappeared.

Military officials had not issued an official statement on the missing vehicle, the operations in Gwadar and Kech, or the reported disappearances in Panjgur at the time of publication.
