The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) said on Sunday it carried out 10 operations across Balochistan, claiming that 10 Pakistani forces personnel and four alleged state agents were killed in attacks in Kharan, Washuk, Awaran, Kech and Mastung.
In a statement, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said the group’s fighters targeted Frontier Corps checkpoints, military camps, a convoy, personnel guarding a road construction company and men it described as “death squad agents” and “state agents”. The group also claimed weapons were seized and surveillance cameras were destroyed during the attacks.
The BLF said its fighters attacked an FC checkpoint on Gazi Road in Kharan city on May 3 with rockets and grenade launchers, claiming the shells landed inside the post and caused casualties and material losses.
The statement alleged that Pakistani forces opened “indiscriminate fire” on surrounding civilians after the attack and attempted to pursue the fighters with quadcopters. The BLF said its fighters reached safe locations.
In Washuk, the group said it carried out an intelligence-based operation on May 2 in the Naag-Grari area, killing two men it described as “armed death squad agents”. It identified them as Amanullah, son of Jumma, and Sajjad, son of Ghulam Qadir, and alleged they were involved in setting up temporary checkpoints and extorting money from vehicles.
The BLF said its fighters seized two Kalashnikovs and a motorcycle from the men. It said this was the second such operation in Naag-Grari in a short period, referring to a March 17 attack in the same area in which it claimed three alleged operatives were killed and one man was taken into its custody.
In Awaran, the BLF said its fighters attacked the main Pakistani military camp in Tirteej on April 29. It said the attack began with a sniper strike that killed a soldier on guard, followed by fire from LMGs and other heavy weapons, causing further losses and damage inside the camp.
The group also claimed an attack on a Pakistani military convoy and personnel guarding a road construction company in Tirteej Koturi. It said the attack began with a sniper strike, killing one soldier, before the remaining personnel were targeted with heavy weapons. The BLF claimed one more soldier was killed and several others were wounded.
On April 28, the group said it attacked a Pakistani military checkpoint in the Geshkour-Zek area of Kolwah in Awaran. It claimed one soldier was killed in a sniper attack before the checkpoint was targeted with heavy weapons, causing further losses and damage to defensive positions.
In Mastung, the BLF said its fighters attacked personnel stationed at the Cadet College checkpoint on April 27 with automatic weapons, claiming two soldiers were killed. It said fighters then established a blockade on the highway.
The group said another blockade was set up the same day near Makka Hotel in Khad Kocha, where the Aziz checkpoint was attacked with heavy weapons. It claimed four soldiers were killed and several others wounded.
In Kech, the BLF said its fighters attacked a Pakistani military checkpoint between Talaar and Berri in Dasht on April 27. It said grenade launcher rounds hit the checkpoint and that surveillance cameras installed at the post were destroyed to disable monitoring.
The statement also referred to two earlier cases in Tump’s Konshqalat area, where the BLF said it arrested and later executed two men accused of spying for Pakistani forces and involvement in enforced disappearances and targeted killings.
The men were identified as Khuda Bakhsh, also known as Wajo, and Adil, son of Rahmdil. The BLF said both men were executed after what it described as confessions and internal proceedings under the organisation’s laws.
Pakistani authorities did not immediately comment on the BLF’s claims.
