The Baloch Women Forum (BWF) on Wednesday expressed concern over the enforced disappearance of two women in Balochistan’s Kech district, saying the continued targeting of women was creating “fear, uncertainty and distress” in Baloch society.
In a statement, the BWF said Zubaida, wife of Haji Badal, and her daughter-in-law Zarnaz, wife of Daulat, were taken during a late-night raid in the Tejaban area and moved to an undisclosed location, after which their whereabouts remain unknown.
It said the families had received no official information about the women’s safety, legal status or current location.
The BWF said the reported disappearance came after an earlier incident involving the same family, noting that Daulat, son of Haji Badal, was killed on February 18, 2026, in what it described as an attack by a state-backed “death squad”.
It said the subsequent reported disappearance of his mother and wife had “further intensified the suffering of the family” and raised humanitarian and human rights concerns.
The BWF said enforced disappearances were unacceptable “under any circumstances” and described them as a grave violation of fundamental rights, adding that the safety, dignity and protection of women must be ensured.
It urged “all concerned institutions” to take “immediate, effective and meaningful action” to end the practice and prevent further suffering of affected families.
