Drone strikes targeted a Pakistani forces camp in Balochistan’s Kalat district, local sources said, the latest in a wave of coordinated attacks reported across the region in recent days.
The attacks reportedly hit positions at a camp established in a college in the Manguchar area.
The strikes came a day after simultaneous attacks on multiple posts and checkposts in the same area and follow a broader wave of coordinated attacks claimed by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) across at least a dozen districts since late Saturday.
The BLA said earlier this year it had launched an aerial unit, “QAHR” (Qazi Aero Hive Rangers), during what it described as “Operation Herof phase II”, when it said drone attacks were carried out on targets including Gwadar Port.
In a statement issued at the time, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the unit had “successfully executed initial missions” and used drone technology to carry out long-range strikes and reach “sensitive areas”.
The group said the unit would remain an “important component” of its strategy in the future and that its combat capabilities would expand, adding that it would also be used for intelligence, communication support and coordination of ground units.
