The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has released the identities and biographical details of three of its members who were killed during the second phase of Operation Herof, according to statements shared on the group’s official channels.
In the statement, the group identified one of the deceased as Liaquat Zehri, also known as Waseem Baloch, son of Abdul Rehman Zehri, a resident of the Kand Kashmi area of Zehri in Khuzdar district. According to the BLA, Zehri joined the organisation in 2024 and later became part of its suicide unit, the Majeed Brigade, in September of the same year.
The group stated that Zehri had previously been forcibly disappeared from Khuzdar on 9 June 2021 along with a young Brahui-language poet identified as Tabish Waseem. The BLA claimed that Zehri was released after two years in detention and later joined the organisation. The group further alleged that Tabish Waseem was killed on 17 October 2022 by Pakistan’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in what it described as a staged encounter in Kharan.
According to the BLA, Zehri was serving as a patrol commander on the Nagahoo front and was later deployed to the Noshki front during the second phase of Operation Herof, where the group says he was killed during fighting.
The organisation also identified another fighter as Adnan Faqeer, also known as Talar, son of Faqeer Muhammad and a resident of Alandur in the Buleda area. The BLA said he was previously associated with the Baloch Students Organization(BSO) and had studied English literature at the University of Balochistan. According to the statement, Faqeer joined the BLA in August 2024 and later became part of the group’s intelligence wing, identified as “ZIRAB”, before being transferred to the mountainous frontlines in 2025 and joining the “Fateh Squad”.
The group stated that Faqeer was killed while fighting on the Rodbun front during Operation Herof Phase II. It also said that he was related to two other BLA members previously killed in the conflict.
The third individual identified by the group was Sohail Ahmed Gurgunari, also known as Faisal, son of Muhammad Younus Gurgunari and a resident of Killi Jamaldini in Noshki district. According to the BLA, he joined the organisation in 2022 and served as a member of the “Fateh Squad”, participating in operations in the Shoor Parod and Noshki areas.
The group said that Gurgunari was killed during clashes with Pakistani forces while taking part in Operation Herof.
