The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has released a video showing Pakistani Army personnel reportedly in its custody, amid an ongoing deadline for a proposed prisoner exchange.

In the footage released by the group on its official channel, Hakkal, the detained servicemen are seen presenting their official service cards and national identity documents to the camera and appealing to their authorities. In the video, the soldiers state that they were formally recruited, issued official documentation and posted to various locations; and how come the relevant authorities are now refusing to acknowledge them.

The BLA had earlier announced a seven-day deadline for a prisoner exchange involving what it described as “prisoners of war”. According to the group, only three days now remain before the deadline expires.

The development follows recent claims by the BLA that it captured several Pakistani military personnel during coordinated attacks across Balochistan, which it referred to as “Operation Herof 2.0”.

There has been no official confirmation from Pakistani authorities regarding the number of personnel allegedly in custody, nor has a formal response been issued by government or military spokespersons concerning the deadline.
