Tensions in Zehri have persisted for the third consecutive day as Pakistani security forces continue large-scale operations in the region. Reports indicate that ground convoys, supported by hundreds of personnel and armored vehicles, are being aided by aerial assets including drones and helicopters. Commandos have reportedly been deployed to strategic hilly areas such as Gazzan and Shahmoz to assist with the offensive.

Local sources report ongoing clashes between security forces and Baloch “pro-independence” groups, including the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Baloch Liberation Front (BLF). The exact details of the military operation remain unclear due to an ongoing communications blackout. Cellular internet has been shut down for several months, broadband services such as PTCL were cut off a month ago, and ground routes in and out of Zehri are closed, making independent verification difficult.

The area has been under the control of Baloch “pro-independence” groups since August. Previous operations by security forces, including an offensive on August 11, failed to dislodge the armed groups. Two days ago, a reported attack near Anjira killed more than 15 security personnel and left several others injured; the BLA claimed responsibility.

Locals fear that the current operation may result in civilian casualties and “enforced disappearances,” following patterns seen in other parts of Balochistan. Air surveillance and ground operations remain active, while internet and communications restrictions continue to isolate the region.
