A military operation is underway in Balochistan’s Noshki district, with reports of clashes and aerial activity in the mountainous regions of Manjro and Nakwah.

Local sources said the operation began on Friday morning, with ground forces deployed and helicopters, including gunships, seen flying over the area throughout the weekend. Sounds of gunfire and explosions were heard in several locations near Noshki. However, the number of casualties remains unconfirmed.

Pakistani authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the Noshki operation.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s military media wing said four militants were killed in a separate intelligence-based operation in Kalat district.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was carried out on the night of 19 to 20 July “upon the reported presence of terrorists.” It said the suspects were allegedly involved in recent attacks on security forces.

The ISPR did not release the names or affiliations of those killed, and the claims have not been independently verified.

Baloch political and human rights groups have expressed concern, warning of the possibility of another staged encounter. They allege that in past operations, Pakistani forces have killed previously forcibly disappeared persons and presented them as militants slain in armed clashes.
