The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), a “pro-independence” Baloch armed group, has claimed responsibility for an attack on a Frontier Corps (FC) camp in the Mashkel area of Washuk district, alleging that 18 FC personnel were killed and several others injured.
In a statement issued to the media, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said the attack took place on October 1 and targeted an FC 58 Wing camp in Gorinder, Mashkel. He claimed that fighters from the group’s newly formed female unit, the Karima Armed Assault Division (KAAD), along with members of its Qurban Unit, carried out a coordinated assault on the facility.
According to the statement, the attackers surrounded the camp from multiple directions and used rockets, grenade launchers and other weapons during the operation. The BLF further claimed that a Pakistani military reinforcement convoy sent to the area was also targeted, resulting in additional casualties.
The group alleged that the bodies of slain personnel were later transported to Panjgur by helicopter and accused the Pakistani military of concealing the number and identities of those killed.
The BLF also said that two of its fighters were killed during the attack. The group identified them as Sajid, alias Mehran, a resident of Buleda, and Abdul Khaliq, alias Notak, a resident of Parom.
In its statement, the BLF described the participation of its newly announced female unit as a significant development and said the KAAD unit had played a central role in the operation. The unit was recently introduced by the organisation and named after the late Baloch political activist Kareema Baloch.
Pakistani authorities had not immediately commented on the BLF’s claims at the time of publication.
