The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for an armed attack on Pakistani military personnel in the Tump area of Kech district, Balochistan. According to a statement issued by BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, the group’s fighters carried out a planned assault resulting in casualties among the troops.
The statement said that the attack took place at approximately 12:00 PM in the Mirabad area of Tump. According to the BLA, the target was a group of eight Pakistani soldiers who were returning to their post after providing security to a convoy. The spokesperson claimed that two soldiers were killed on the spot, while one was seriously injured. The remaining personnel reportedly fled the scene, leaving their wounded behind.
The BLA stated that it accepts full responsibility for the operation and reiterated that the attack was part of its ongoing armed campaign for what it describes as the “independence” of Balochistan.
