The bullet-riddled body of a young man was recovered from Balochistan’s Panjgur district on Sunday, marking the second such incident reported in the area within a week.

According to local sources, the body was found in the Garamkan Rakhshan River and was shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Panjgur. Hospital officials later identified the deceased as Waheed, son of Kareem Dad, a resident of Isakaur.

The body bore multiple gunshot wounds. Waheed had reportedly been forcibly disappeared on March 31, 2021, after being taken into custody by Pakistani forces. His whereabouts had remained unknown for over three years.

This is the second case of a custodial death reported in Panjgur in recent days. On Thursday, the body of another young man, Sameer, son of Sabzal, a resident of Tasp, was found in a remote area. He had also allegedly been tortured and killed in custody.

Incidents of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings have long been reported in Balochistan. Thousands of people have gone missing over the past two decades, with many later found dead under suspicious circumstances.

Human rights organizations have consistently condemned the practice as a form of state repression, calling for independent investigations and justice for the victims.
