Two “pro-independence” Baloch armed groups have claimed responsibility for a series of attacks targeting Pakistani military and police personnel in different parts of Balochistan.

In a statement released on Friday, Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the group’s fighters carried out four separate operations in Tump, Mastung, Zamuran, and Naseerabad, killing five soldiers and injuring nine others.

According to the BLA, the first attack took place on Thursday in the Tump area of Kech district, where BLA fighters detonated a remote-controlled IED targeting a vehicle within a 23-vehicle Pakistani military convoy. The explosion “completely destroyed” the vehicle, killing four soldiers and seriously injuring five others.

In a separate attack on Friday, BLA fighters ambushed two Pakistani soldiers on foot near a military camp in Mastung’s Khadkocha. One soldier was killed on the spot while another was seriously injured. The group claimed its fighters seized the soldiers’ weapons.

In a third attack, BLA fighters targeted a Pakistani army post in the Archanan Kulki area of Kech’s Zamuran region. The group said automatic and heavy weapons were used, wounding three soldiers. A military surveillance drone was reportedly shot down, while a communication tower and cameras were damaged in the attack.

In Naseerabad, the BLA said it targeted the Manjhu Shori police station with a hand grenade, causing property damage.

The BLA claimed responsibility for all four attacks, vowing to continue its operations against what it described as “occupying forces.”

BLF Claims Weapon Seizure in Kharan

Meanwhile, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) said its fighters seized a weapon from a police officer in Kharan.

According to BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, the incident took place on Friday in the Hindu Mohalla area of Kharan city. The officer was briefly detained but later released unharmed.

The group said the officer was released in accordance with “Baloch values and humanitarian principles.”

“We claim responsibility for this attack and reaffirm our commitment to the relentless struggle until the restoration of Balochistan’s independent and sovereign status,” the BLF spokesperson said.
