A man has reportedly been forcibly disappeared in Balochistan’s Kech district. The missing person has been identified as Sohail Baloch, son of Abdullah, who was allegedly abducted by Pakistani intelligence agencies on October 11 from the Bahman area of Turbat. His whereabouts remain unknown since his detention, and family members have urged human rights organizations to raise their voices for his safe recovery.

Missing Sohail Baloch

In a related development, protests against enforced disappearances continue across Balochistan. The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) organized a large protest rally in Khuzdar, where citizens, families of the disappeared, and BYC members marched from Shaheed Razaq Chowk to Azadi Chowk, calling for the release of missing persons. The protest saw participation from neighboring areas such as Nal, Wadh, and Surab.

The protesters accused state forces of attempting to disrupt the rally by harassing demonstrators, shutting down mobile networks, deploying large numbers of security personnel, and using violence against them. Despite these efforts, the rally continued successfully.

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee’s ongoing campaign, “Breaking the Silence: Standing Against Enforced Disappearances,” has held similar protests in Karachi, Hub Chowki, and now Khuzdar. The BYC reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful protests despite threats and aggression, urging the families of the disappeared to come forward and submit details of their missing loved ones.
