The Pakistani federal government has made significant decisions in light of the security situation in Balochistan, granting the forces the authority to detain any suspicious individual on the suspicion of armed attacks.

The federal cabinet of Pakistan has approved amendments to the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997, giving special powers to the military, civil armed forces, and the government. These amendments aim to enhance the legal protection for more effective operations against terrorism and armed attacks.

According to sources, legislation will be enacted to amend Section 11EEEE of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997. This amendment will provide forces with greater legal protection to conduct more effective operations against terrorism and armed attacks.

Sources further stated that the forces will be able to detain any suspicious individual in anticipation of terrorism and joint investigative teams (JITs), consisting of intelligence agencies and law enforcement personnel, will be formed.

Additionally, individuals posing threats to national security can be taken into custody. These JITs will conduct comprehensive investigations and gather information related to terrorists.
