Renowned Balochi language writer and comedian Abid Askani passed away in Karachi on Tuesday.

According to reports, Abid Askani, a well-known Balochi language writer and comedian, passed away after battling a brain tumor at Agha Khan Hospital in Karachi.

In a conversation with The Balochistan Post during the publication of his collection of satire and humor in 2022, Askani shared insights into his work.

Mr. Askani dedicated the last forty years of his life to the advancement of his mother tongue, Balochi. He published at least 20 books and numerous articles in this regard. In addition to his contributions to Balochi literature, Askani was also a distinguished Persian poet.
