At least 2 people have been killed and scores abducted during a military operation in Dera Bugti, Balochistan that has continued for four consecutive days.
According to details obtained by The Balochistan Post, Pakistani security forces are carrying out a military operation in Dera Bugti and Kohistan Marri regions of Balochistan for past four days. Security forces aided by gunship helicopters have raided different locations around Nasao and Jannat Ali areas near Dera Bugti.
According to locals, scores of people have been arrested and taken to military camps. Tens of houses in the area have been torched and razed to ground, whereas, live stock has forcibly been confiscated by personnel of Pakistani military.
Complete details of losses are yet to be ascertained as blockage of communication systems has made it difficult for journalists to obtain accurate information about the losses to lives and properties.
However, at least two Bugti tribesmen were killed on the first day of the military operation who have been identified as Laal Bugti and Taaja Bugti.
There are also reports suggesting several women and children have been injured due to shelling in Kahan, yesterday.
Military operations in Balochistan have recently escalated dramatically forcing locals to abandon their villages and flee to safe locations.
Similar operations were carried out in Noshki, Awaran, Kalat, Bolan and in different areas of Makuran in past few months. Scores have been killed and injured in these operations.
Baloch political parties have continuously protested against human rights violations in Balochistan at the hands of Pakistani security forces.
