The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons and Families of the victims of enforced disappearances are carrying out protest in different areas of Balochistan on the day of Eid-ul-Adha.

According to reports, The VBMP, a campaign group striving for the safe release of missing persons from Balochistan announced on Sunday to protest on Eid day (today) against the enforced disappearances in Balochistan’s capital city of Quetta. Therefore, many victim families and student activists are gathering in front of the Quetta Press Club to participate in the protest.

Nasrullah Baloch, the Chairman of the VBMP stated in his recent statement that VBMP will hold a protest in front of Quetta Press Club at 4 PM on Eid day against the non-recovery of missing persons, enforced disappearances, and the killings of missing individuals. He appealed to all political parties, student organizations, and the residents of Quetta to participate in the protest.

Meanwhile, the families of missing persons from district Kech are carrying out a sit-in protest in Balochistan’s Turbat city of Kech district Today.

The sit-in is ongoing at Shaheed Fida Chowk in Turbat for individuals who have been forcibly disappeared allegedly by the Pakistani military forces.

A large number of women and children, along with the families of the missing persons, are participating in the sit-in.

Yesterday, the families of the missing persons stated in their released statement that they would hold a sit-in protest at Shaheed Fida Chowk after the Eid al-Adha prayers to mark Eid and protest for the recovery of their loved ones.

It is worth noting that for the recovery of the missing persons, a protest sit-in was held at the main gate of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in earlier this month in Kech. After negotiations with the administration and assurances of the recovery of the missing persons, the families had postponed their protest. However, despite the time given by the administration having passed, the missing persons have not yet been recovered.

It is pertinent to mention that in Balochistan, every year during Eid, the families of forcibly disappeared individuals protest on the streets for the recovery of their loved ones. “The joy of Eid and every other festival has faded in our homes,” Victim families stated.
