In an unprecedented display of solidarity, thousands gathered in Taunsa on Tuesday to support the long march against “Baloch genocide.” The march, which commenced on December 6 from Turbat, is protesting against the “Baloch Genocide”, enforced disappearances, and the custodial killings of missing persons in Balochistan.

In Taunsa, marchers, having overcome earlier administrative challenges in D.G. Khan, received an overwhelming welcome from the locals. Families of forcibly disappeared individuals, among other participants, were greeted with flowers, symbolizing the support and solidarity of local Baloch residents.

Dr. MahRang Baloch, speaking at the demonstration in Taunsa Sharif, highlighted the unity and shared struggles of the Baloch people. “Our pain is one; we are the oppressed of the same land,” she stated, further emphasizing that “Balochistan is incomplete without Koh-e-Sulaiman.” Her speech was met with enthusiastic support, as slogans like “Rajanpur to D.G. Khan is Balochistan” and “Stop Baloch Genocide” echoed through the crowd.

The march is scheduled to proceed towards Dera Ismail Khan early on Wednesday morning, with an anticipated arrival time of 09:00 AM. Ultimately, the march aims to reach Islamabad, where it will join an ongoing sit-in at the Press Club. This sit-in, currently marking its 23rd day and involving families of missing Baloch persons, is part of a broader movement to bring the issue of enforced disappearances in Balochistan into the spotlight.
