The Balochistan National Movement (BNM) has extended its condolences and paid tribute to the late acclaimed Balochi language poet, Mubarak Qazi. The poet’s recent passing has left a profound void in the hearts of the nation, it said. Renowned for his inspiring verses that resonated deeply with the Baloch people, Mubarak Qazi’s impact on language and literature was unparalleled, BNM statement reads.

In an official statement issued by a BNM spokesperson, the party expressed its deep sorrow at the loss of a literary giant. The spokesperson highlighted Qazi’s unique ability to capture the sentiments and emotions of the Baloch people through his profound poetry. His verses served as a guiding light, fearlessly addressing social and political issues despite facing persecution and imprisonment for his artistic expressions. His unshaking commitment to his ideals and immense courage made him a revolutionary figure in society.

Mubarak Qazi’s choice to lead a modest life and remain connected to his roots reflected his dedication to his people. He elevated the public language of poetry, prioritizing the expression of public sentiments over literary devices. Throughout his life, his poetry and revolutionary spirit brought fame to Balochistan, uniting people of all ages in mourning his loss today.

Reflecting on Qazi’s enduring influence, the BNM spokesperson stated, “Although an era has come to a close, Mubarak Qazi’s persona, art, ideas, and expressions will continue to guide future generations.”

The spokesperson also mentioned the loss of Qazi’s son, Kambar Qazi, who shared his father’s nationalist ideals and actively participated in the armed struggle for Baloch independence. “Kambar Qazi became a martyr at the hands of enemy agents, a devastating blow for Mubarak Qazi. However, he embraced his son’s sacrifice for the national freedom movement, proudly honoring his martyrdom,” the BNM statement reads.
