In Balochistan’s Harnai district, unknown armed men damaged at least forty trucks loaded with coal. The incident occurred in the Zardado area where the armed individuals blocked the road and stopped over three dozen coal trucks. They opened fire and flattened the trucks’ tires, causing significant damage.

Notably, the area has two check posts of the Pakistani security forces. Local sources reveal that despite the presence of these check posts, incidents like this continue to happen without deterrence. Security forces are stationed every five kilometres along the road, but they have been unable to prevent such occurrences.

According to local sources, the Frontier Corps soldiers charge a fee of Rs. 230 per ton of coal to allow truck passage. Despite this “unofficial tax,” the soldiers have failed to protect the trucks from such attacks.
