Pakistani military aircraft reportedly carried out airstrikes at two locations in Kalat on Monday, a day after a drone targeted a vehicle in Manguchar, while helicopter shelling and quadcopter attacks were also reported in parts of the district.

Jet aircraft carried out an airstrike in the Chappar area of Kalat on Monday morning, according to local sources. A powerful explosion was heard in the area, but no information was immediately available regarding casualties or damage.

Another explosion was reported in areas adjoining Took and Dasht-e-Goran. The precise location could not immediately be established, although local sources said jet aircraft were seen flying over the area around the time of the blast.

Sources told The Balochistan Post that a drone targeted a vehicle in Manguchar on Sunday. Details of possible casualties or damage were not immediately available.

Separately, gunship helicopters reportedly shelled Rudeenjo and surrounding areas for several hours on Sunday, while quadcopter strikes were also reported.

Communication disruptions and restrictions on movement in the affected areas have made it difficult to independently verify the reports or obtain complete information on possible casualties and damage.

The reported attacks come amid a series of military operations and aerial strikes across Balochistan in recent weeks, several of which have prompted allegations of civilian casualties.

Four civilians were killed and several others wounded on September 10 after Frontier Corps personnel allegedly opened fire at a wedding gathering in Wadh, Khuzdar. Seven-year-old Shahzaib was among those injured.

On August 21, four orchard workers were killed and three others injured in a reported drone strike in the Gaith area of Khadkocha, Mastung.

More than 20 people, including women and children, were killed or injured in Gidar Goandhan, Surab, on August 12 in a reported Pakistani airstrike on residential areas.

Pakistan’s military disputed that account, saying militants preparing a vehicle-borne explosive device were killed in a premature explosion and that subsequent blasts also caused civilian casualties.

Local residents and rights groups have rejected the military’s account and maintained that the casualties resulted from an airstrike.
