Unknown persons blew up a gas pipeline in Balochistan’s industrial city of Hub Chowki on Saturday — BLA took responsibility.

According to reports, unidentified persons had planted an improvised explosive device (IED) close to a 12-inch gas pipeline in the Nazar Chowrangi area of the Hub district. The explosives reportedly went off with a powerful blast that rocked the entire area.

Gas supply to adjoining towns including factories and companies were disrupted due to damage caused by the blast.

A “pro-independence” Baloch armed group, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) in a media statement claimed responsibility for blowing up the gas pipeline.

BLA spokesman Jeeyand Baloch stated that BLA will further intensify its attacks against “exploitative projects” all-over Balochistan.

Meanwhile, Pakistani forces claim to have recovered an IED nearby Turbat city of Kech district on Saturday.

According to the administration, security forces raided the Apsar town of Kech district and recovered the anti-tank mine fixed under the Do-Karam bridge in Apsar, which was defused by the bomb disposal squad and seized.
