Two medical students, Dr. Nabi Dad Bugti and Dr. Fayaz Lashari, have allegedly gone missing from Balochistan’s Ziarat district while traveling from Islamabad to Quetta on Saturday. Reports suggest that Pakistani forces ‘forcibly detained’ the two students. Dr. Nabi Dad Bugti has since been released, but Dr. Fayaz Lashari is still missing, leading to concerns about his safety.

Both students were studying for their Master’s in Health Services Academy in Islamabad, and their disappearance has caused a stir in Balochistan. However, there seems to be a discrepancy in the details provided by Mama Qadeer, the Vice Chairman of VBMP, and the spokesperson of the Baloch Students Organization Bolan Medical College Unit.

While Mama Qadeer claims that Dr. Nabi Dad Bugti and Dr. Fayaz Lashari were abducted by “unknown persons” while traveling from Islamabad to Quetta, the spokesperson for the Baloch Students Organization Bolan Medical College Unit claims that the students were abducted by “unknown persons” from the area near Ziarat Cross on their way back from Islamabad to Quetta.

The spokesperson of BSO Bolan Medical College University has appealed to the doctors’ community and people from all walks of life to raise their voices and help in the safe recovery of Dr. Fayaz Lashari. They have also warned that if the missing doctor is not recovered soon, the Baloch Students Organization (BSO) will announce protests across Balochistan, including Quetta.

The disappearance of Dr. Fayaz Lashari has raised questions about the safety of Balochistan’s students, especially those studying in other parts of the country.
