In two different accidents in Western Balochistan on Tuesday night at least 14 people were killed and 34 other injured.

According to reports, at least three people were killed and 33 others were injured as a passenger bus traveling from Iranshahr of Western Balochistan to Nikshahr in Iran overturned on the road.

The number of dead and injured was confirmed by Alireza Irandegani, head of the medical emergency services center of Iranshahr University of Medical Sciences.

Meanwhile, in another road accident, 11 people died and one was critically injured when two vehicles collided on the road from Khash to the capital of western Balochistan, Zahedan. The head of the emergency medical services center of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, Fariborz Rashedi told Tasnim News Agency.

During the Nowruz holidays (from March 21 to April 2), intercity travel in Iran sees a surge, and that reportedly causes more road accidents. Nowruz marks the arrival of the new year in Iran.

Ahmad Shirani, the head of the Iranian Traffic Information and Control Center, while talking in a live televised interview on Wednesday said that 325 people have been killed in 267 car crashes in the country over the past seven days.
