The Balochistan government announced that it has started the implementation of the Apex Committee’s decision to install trackers in passenger vehicles on the Quetta-Karachi highway. 

According to reports, The decision of installing trackers in conveyances was made in the last meeting of the Apex Committee led by Chief Minister Balochistan Abdul Quddus Bizenjo. The owners and drivers of the passenger coaches, buses, and wagons on the national highways in Balochistan, especially on the Quetta-Karachi highway, were strictly directed to ensure the installation of trackers to check the speed of vehicles. 

In the meeting, the committee also made a decision to ban the carrying of petrol diesel, and other flammable materials in passenger vehicles — concerned authorities were strictly directed to implement it.

In this regard, the administration of all the districts across Balochistan has started checking the passenger vehicles on the highways passing through their areas and the speed of all vehicles is being checked. While the presence of any sort of flammable materials in the vehicles is also being monitored.

Chief Secretary Balochistan, Abdul Aziz Uqaili directed all Commissioners, Deputy Commissioner, and Provincial Transport Authority to check the speed of passenger vehicles on national highways and take legal actions who disobey the law.

It is important to mention that road accidents are a daily occurrence in Balochistan due to the dilapidated roads. Hundreds die every year in road accidents across Balochistan.
