The Balochistan University in Quetta will be closed till April 30th due to the rising coronavirus cases in the city. Academic activities will be completely halted but the university staff will continue to function while following the precautions.

In a recent notification, Muhammad Kakar, the registrar at the University of Balochistan, announced that the institution will remain closed till April 30th due to the rising Covid-19 cases. The notification added that the university staff will continue to work while following the necessary precautions. The examinations, admission tests and viva voce tests will occur per the issued schedule.

A few days ago, the lectures in the IT department of the university contracted the virus. Following the surge in the coronavirus cases in Balochistan, the Education Ministry announced that all the academic activities from Nursery to eighth grade will be suspended till Eid. The Sardar Bahadur Khan women’s university in Quetta was also shut down on Thursday for 15 days.
