The Pakistani forces reportedly raided the houses of two exiled Baloch political workers on Thursday and arrested their ailing, elderly fathers.

According to the details, the security forces raided the houses of Aalim Baloch, an exiled member of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), and Imran Hakeem, also a member of the BNM. The forces reportedly arrested the activists’ elderly fathers and moved them to their camp. One of the arrestees was released two hours later due to his worsening health condition.

Activist Imran Hakeem confirmed the news on social media. “Yesterday Pakistani FC broke into my house in #Panjgoor #Proom and tortured my family, arrested my father and uncle took them to FC camp and released them after torturing for two hours”, he tweeted.

Locals say that the arrestees had been physically tortured and interrogated about the activities of their sons. The family members protested against what they call the “extrajudicial” arrest and marched to the forces’ camp, demanding the immediate release of the arrestees.

During the investigation, the blood pressure of one of the arrestees spiked and he was therefore released. Two hours later, they released the other arrestee on the condition that he will revisit the camp the next day.
