A corruption of PKR 59 crores has been revealed in Pat Feeder Canal Extension Project.
NAB Balochistan has filed a reference in the accountability court against 16 persons including project director and firm consultant.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan has completed its probe into the corruption of over Rs. 59 crore in the Pitt Feeder Canal Extension Project.
During the investigation of the Pat Feeder Canal Project, the NAB came to know that Project Director Sher Zaman, with the connivance of National Development Construction Firm’s Consultant Muhammad Farooq, Contractor Abdul Ghaffar and others, made a corruption in funds approved for various projects. According to NAB, which caused a loss of more than Rs. 59 crores to the national exchequer.
The NAB has completed its investigation and filed a reference in the accountability court against 16 persons, including the consultant of the Balochistan National Development Construction Firm, the contractor and the project director of the irrigation department.
Whereas, on Monday, the NAB has also filed a reference against the former health minister Balochistan, Rehmat Saleh Baloch in the assets case. NAB traced out properties of the former health minister and his relatives.
As per the reports, the Minister Rehmat Baloch had opened bank accounts in the name of his brothers and relatives to transfer corruption money into those accounts. Huge amounts transferred into the accounts of low-grade employees and relatives. The anti-graft spokesperson said.
Rehmat Saleh Baloch belonged to the former ruling National Party (NP). He remained provincial minister health from 2013 to 2018 in Balochistan in the cabinet of Dr Malik Baloch and Sanaullah Zehri.
