The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and the Frontier Corps (FC) have claimed of apprehending three alleged members of the Baloch Liberation Army in a joint operation in Tehsil Wadh, Khuzdar, on Saturday.
A CTD spokesperson said that they, in a joint operation with the FC, managed to apprehend three suspected members of the Baloch Liberation Army, a Baloch pro-independence organization, whereas three of their ‘accomplices’ escaped.
CTD also claims of having seized an Ak-47, 25kg of explosives, two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and other remote control devices from the hideout of the three suspects. Further investigation is underway, they said.
The authorities further said that the suspects were in a hideout in Killi Sher Jan in Tehsil Wadh and were planning operations in Lasbela, Kalat and Khuzdar. They also claimed that the arrestees had been involved in various other activities, including the attacks on the security forces and the law enforcement agencies.
The authorities did not provide any personal details of the suspects.
It is pertinent to mention that earlier this week, CTD had also claimed of arresting four members of banned organizations, including a member of the BLA, from Karachi. The CTD had also made claims of arresting four members of the proscribed organization in an operation in Naseerabad, Balochistan, and prehending explosives and drugs from them.
