Five labourers working on a housing project in district Gwadar have been killed, whereas, three others were injured.

According to details received by The Balochistan Post, unknown assailants killed five labourers working on a house project in Ganz, Gwadar on Wednesday.

Three labourers have also suffered injuries in the attack.

The incident comes only a day after Pakistan hosted a conference of foreign investors in Gwadar to attract foreign direct investment in the region.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack at the time of filing this report, however, Baloch pro-independence armed groups are active in the region.

Gwadar port is the flagship project of China funded multi-billion dollar project called China Pakistan Economic Corridor. Baloch political groups oppose the project and term it an ‘exploitative design’.
