Two missing persons have been released in Turbat while another has gone missing after getting abducted from Mashkay.

According to the details received by The Balochistan Post, two persons were released from detention in Turbat city of Balochistan on Monday.

Chakar s/o Dildad, who went missing on 20 August 2018, and Salim s/o Ali Baksh, who was abducted on 22 August 2018, were both released on Monday, family sources have confirmed.

While the two families were lucky, a family in Mashkay was not as a man was abducted on Sunday night.

Siraj s/o Sattar, a resident of Nokjo in Mashkay, was abducted by personnel of Pakistani forces, family members have alleged.

According to local reports, while few dozen people have returned homes in last few days, others have gone missing.

The term ‘missing persons’ is widely used in Balochistan to connote arrests made by security forces as the arrested are not presented before court of law and instead kept in military camps.

According to Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), a campaign group by families of victims, more than 20,000 Baloch men, women and children are under Pakistani custody.
