More than 30 including a senior police official have been killed as polling for general elections starts in Balochistan.

According to The Balochistan Post correspondents, violence has been reported from different cities of Balochistan.

In Quetta, a suicide bomber reportedly targeted a convoy of police near an office of BAP, a political party contesting the elections.

More than 30 people, including SHO Bhoosa Mandi station, Malik Hamid, died as result of the explosion. A same number of people have also been injured in the attack, some are reported to be in critical condition.

According to reports, the intended target of the attack was Deputy Inspector General Police, Abdul Razaq Cheema, however, he was uninjured in the attack.

International terrorist organisation ISIS, has claimed responsibility for the attack.

In other parts of Balochistan, unknown armed persons have carried out various attacks against polling staff and security forces.

Unknown assailants fired rockets at polling stations in Panjgur and Dasht, whereas a grenade was hurled at a polling station on Adalat road in Hub. Violence was also reported from a polling station in Mashkay.

In Naseerabad, unknown armed persons opened gunfire at a polling station, injuring at least two.

According to some reports, rockets were fired on military camps in Tump and Turbat. Bombs have been found in at least two polling stations in Panjgur, which have been defused by disposal squad.

Last night, a camp of Pakistani security forces came under heavy attack by unknown persons in Shahrag, Harnai. There are unconfirmed reports of causalities in this attack.

No group has claimed responsibility for today’s attacks. However, Baloch armed groups claimed responsibility for many attacks carried out yesterday.
