Unprecedented violence has been witnessed in Balochistan as armed groups carry out numerous attack on eve of election day.

According to The Balochistan Post correspondents, more than a dozen attacks, claiming many lives, have been carried out all over Balochistan since Yesterday.

The most deadly attack was in Zamuran, where a convoy of Pakistani security forces was targeted. At least 6 personnel of security forces were killed and more than a dozen were injured in the attack. However, officials put the number of dead at 4, whereas, Balochistan Liberation Front, who took responsibility for the attack, claimed more than a dozen personnel were killed.

A military observation outpost, located in a polling station in Keelkor, Panjgur was attacked with rocket propelled grenades (RPGs). Jeehand Baloch, the spokesman of Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), claimed three Pakistani personnel were killed in the attack. Jeehand Baloch said BLA and BLF fighters carried a joint attack on the outpost.

A polling station in Mand was also targeted with RPGs. One security forces personnel was killed in the attack and several others were injured. BLF later took responsibility for the attack.

BLF also claimed that their fighters targeted a convoy of Pakistani forces in Balgithar, in which, as per BLF’s spokesperson, several personnel were killed and injured.

An outpost of Pakistani military was attacked on 23rd July in Gresha near Khuzdar. A personnel of Pakistani forces was reportedly killed in the attack. Attacks were also carried out in Mashkay, Hohaab, Tump and Panjgur. BLF claimed responsibility for all these attacks.

Baloch Republican Army (BRA) claimed responsibilities for attacks against Pakistani security forces in Kolwah, Panjgur and Tump.

Another armed group United Baloch Army (UBA) claimed that a Pakistani paramilitary camp was targeted by their fighters in Ispilinji, near Mastung.

On Tuesday evening, long-range rockets were fired on a Pakistani security forces camp in Lijje, Kharan. It could not be ascertained if Pakistani forces had suffered losses. BLF claimed responsibility for this attack.

BLF also claimed responsibilities for attacks Kech, Jhao, Teertaj and Hoshaap.

Grenade attacks were carried out on polling stations in Noor Gaama Zehri and Koshk in Khuzdar. Four policemen were injured due to the attack in Koshk. No group has claimed responsibility for these two attacks at the time of filing this report.
