Nine years of protests and campaign for the missing Zakir Majeed

Today marked the 9 years of Zakir Majeed’s absence among his people, as he was abducted by the personnel of Pakistan’s secret agencies on this day in 2009.

Baloch community in Balochistan and Baloch diaspora are recording their protest for the Baloch missing persons and against the abduction of Zakir Majeed — A young student leader.

Zakir Majeed Baloch was the Senior Vice Chairman of a student organisation —BSO-Azad—when he was picked up forcibly by the personnel of Pakistani intelligence agencies from Mastung town of Balochistan on 8th June 2009.

BSO-Azad has since announced to observe 8th June as the day of all Baloch Missing Persons.

According to TBP social media desk, Baloch social media activists are running a campaign using the hashtag #BalochMissingPersonsDay. The hashtag is being used by several rights activists too.

Rights organisation accuse Pakistani Army of picking up Baloch activists and subjecting them to severe torture.
